In 2002, Radix Wire Company introduced DuraFlex® 550, the first UL listed 550°C wire. Challenged by OEMs to reduce the costs of added thermal protection (glass sleeve, ceramic insulator, etc) to 450° C rated wire, Radix delivered! Radix Wire & Cable became the first high temperature wire manufacturer to exceed the 450° C maximum temperature listed by UL.
