SilaVolt® offers rugged UL2556 abrasion resistance with a high temperature jacket diameter that is up to 35% smaller than similar motor lead wire products.
March 24, 2014, Euclid, Ohio – With the introduction of SilaVolt®, Radix Wire has expanded their product offerings into electric motor, generator, dry type transformer, load bank, and power inverters applications. Radix is the first North American manufacturer of UL Listed high voltage Class H (1800C) and Class N (2000C) motor lead wire. The product is available for most standard circuit sizes in both AWG and metric conductors.
SilaVolt’s use of semi-conductive silicone insulation allows for a 22% to 35% smaller diameter, depending upon gauge size, as compared to other products carrying the same 6.9KVAC and 13.8 KVAC voltage rating. The treated synthetic outer braid insures a rugged and durable product for applications where vibration and mechanical wear is an issue. The braid material used on SilaVolt makes it ten times more resistant to abrasion than traditional fiberglass braided silicone and braidless silicone products per UL 2556. The braid is color coded for voltages 1.1kV, 3.3kV, 6.6kV, and 13.8kV for quick identification and treated to completely eliminate braid fray which is characteristic of braided products.
The complete insulation system is Low Smoke Zero Halogen and RoHS compliant.
