Radix Wire & Cable announces the launch of its new Radix Silicone HD (UL 3132 / 3133), a high-performance power cable designed to meet the evolving demands of high-current open compute rack architectures (ORv3) and high-density power distribution environments. Built with advanced silicone technology, the Radix Silicone HD delivers exceptional power density, reliability, and ultra flexibility, making it an ideal solution for modern data infrastructure and power-intensive applications.
At the core of the Radix Silicone HD’s performance is Radix’s proprietary silicone insulating system, engineered to support high-current capacity while maintaining superior flexibility. This ultra-flexible design allows for tighter routing and easier installation in space-constrained rack environments, helping reduce strain on connections and improve long-term system reliability.
Designed with reliability in mind, the Radix Silicone HD features a VW-1 flammability rating (14 AWG – 4/0 AWG) and a low smoke, zero halogen (LSZH) construction to enhance safety in critical installations. The cable is rated for temperatures up to 150°C and is suitable for operation in demanding environments, including those exposed to UV, ozone, moisture, and extreme cold down to -60°C. Its PFAS-free silicone formulation reflects Radix’s continued commitment to environmentally responsible materials and forward-thinking product development.
With conductor sizes ranging from 16 AWG through 4/0 AWG, bare and tinned copper conductors, and voltage ratings up to 600V, the Radix Silicone HD is engineered to deliver consistent, high-performance power distribution where reliability and flexibility are essential. Its ability to support high power density while maintaining durability makes it especially well-suited for open compute rack architectures (ORv3) and other advanced high-density power systems.
“We are proud to introduce the Radix Silicone HD, a product designed specifically to support the growing demands of high-density power distribution and next-generation computing environments,” says Radix Wire & Cable CEO Jeremy Tuttle. “Its combination of high power density, ultra flexibility, and proven reliability demonstrates our commitment to providing innovative solutions that meet the needs of today’s most advanced technologies.”
