As Radix Wire and Cable celebrates its 75th year of powering people’s lives, the company announces new products, people and programs that enhance the company’s commitment to development of new innovations, depth of knowledge, and dedication to its customers.

2019 Progress Report: Developing the next innovation

Radix is committed to delivering innovative customer solutions and providing cutting-edge products that meet the latest and most stringent regulatory requirements. Among the most significant and sought after innovations in 2019, Radix has launched the following products:

DuraLife Multi-Conductor Dual-Rated CI/CIC: the only multi-conductor dual rated CI/CIC fire-resistive cables that comply with both UL 2916 and CAN/ULC S-139. Certified for free-air applications, these circuit integrity cables are available in 18-12 AWG unshielded, 18-14 AWG shielded, and 4-conductor, 6-conductor, and 8-conductor cost effective constructions under one jacket.

DuraLife Free Air FPLP-CI Shielded: the only true Circuit Integrity Free-Air Cable with an FPLP rating, allowing for conduit-free installation not just in the riser, but plenum space too.

Super J High Voltage Lead Wire: Super J is up to 7 times more abrasion resistant than competitor’s “tough silicone” wire and has superior tear, cracking, abrasion and cut-through resistance. It is compatible with aggressive varnishes. Initially launched in 2018 for the motor gen market, Radix is now expanding Super J into new markets.

Dedication to customers – and our communities

The core of Radix is its team members, who go the extra mile to find the right solution for every customer. In the first half of 2019, Radix hired three new dedicated team members:

Heidi Young:

Heidi joins Radix as a DuraLife Outside Sales Manager, bringing a wealth of experience directing national sales and territory development for several companies in the Fire Alarm and Security industry including globally recognized companies such as Cintas, Tyco and SimplexGrinnell. Heidi will be covering the Southwest, West and Northwest territories including CA, WA, CO, AZ, TX, NV and we very much look forward to her putting her talents towards continued growth of the DuraLife business.

Jeff Kramer:

Jeff joined the Radix Team as Director of New Product Development on Monday, April 29th. Jeff comes to us with over 20 years of manufacturing and has had a variety of responsibilities including VP of Engineering at TPC Wire & Cable, Senior Process Engineer at Mueller Electric, and Manufacturing Engineer at The Lincoln Electric Company. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Ohio University and an MBA from University of Phoenix.

Brian Smith:

Joining Radix as a high temperature Inside Sales Representative, Brian comes to us with over 20 years of sales experience. He has worked with specialty films in industries including healthcare, food and beverage, and POP displays. Most recently Brian worked as a national sales manager for a leading manufacturer of high performing materials engineered for aircraft, vehicle and architectural interiors. He will be focused on growing our high temperature sales volumes in the western half of the US, Mexico and western Canada.

This year, Radix also launched its new service initiative, 75 Acts of Service, in honor of its 75th anniversary. Team members are invited to participate in local community events near its Euclid and Aurora sites, with the goal of 75 total acts of volunteering. To date, Radix team members have achieved 46 Acts of Service and are on target to achieve 75 by end of year.
