Position Summary:
The Fire Protection Sales Development Associate is an expert in DuraLife by providing product solutions, answering questions, resolving issues, educating the customer and maintaining Radix’s reputation for high-quality service. This position also requires the development of new customers through a variety of resources and retaining existing customers by making it easy for them to do business with Radix. The Product Specialists’ role is to support the Fire Protection Sales Team in the effort to expand the business to meet the organization’s growth and sales targets.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain updated knowledge of fire protection products, applicable fire codes, market developments and company policies in order to respond to customer inquiries, educate the customer and provide innovative solutions
  • Promptly and professionally field incoming communication from customers; answer customer questions and provide technical information, resolve any issues, and disseminate information to the team as required.
  • Accurately price quotes, process orders and acknowledgments, returns and credits.
  • Provide regular reporting to the team on sales goals, upcoming projects and current orders.
  • Contribute to the team pipeline by adding and updating projects with follow-up through the construction cycle.
  • Cultivate potential sales opportunities, identify prospective customers, develop leads, foster & maintain customer relationships and disseminate information for sales team follow-up.
  • Effectively work with all Radix departments
  • Create customized searches using Construction Data software to assist team prospecting.
  • Cold Call key construction contacts such as Architects, General Contractors, Electrical Contractors and various end users to drive new business, expand our customer database and set up sales calls
  • Document important customer feedback and information for prospecting, lead development, team sharing, etc.
  • Develop market penetration opportunities and generate interest in new products or services opportunities to ensure key decision-makers are familiar with product offerings and increase exposure with end-users; and connect customers with outside sales team when required.
  • Attend company and department meetings as required.
  • Provide support services to the Fire Protection Department, including electronic filing, literature/sample management, calendar maintenance, etc.
  • Act as back-up to others in the department who are out on business or vacation.
  • Assist in marketing and promotional material generation.
  • Attend national trade shows to promote brand recognition.
  • Regional sales responsibilities for area to be identified; to include limited travel to maintain and develop existing and new customer relationships, promoting the product with engineering firms and contractors and educating the marketplace on the DuraLife brand.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Associate Degree and/or 2 years sales or customer service experience.
  • Accuracy and completeness through all means of communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM and ERP experience (Syteline a plus).
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Belief in Radix Core Values.
  • Must have a car and valid driver’s license.

Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. Regularly required to sit and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand and walk. Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
