Is there a moisture proof product above 250 C?
The most secure barrier to moisture intrusion into electrical wire and cable is a continuous extrusion of a material that does not absorb water in any degree, like FEP Teflon*. For temperatures up to 250 C, extruded PFA Teflon or multiple layers of PTFE Teflon tape may be used. Above 250 C, however, the useful materials that will provide this type of protection dwindle. In most cases, the PTFE tape is applied, with the knowledge that it will be sacrificed should the temperature get too high or the exposure time get too long.
